Keep Shannie Well

In 2011, Shannie was in need of some specialized treatments for her scleroderma that could only be found in Dallas, Texas.  Insurance would not cover the experimental treatments, so Shannie and her two best friends began making and selling duct tape decorated pens to raise the necessary funds.  Shannie and her mom, Julie, were able to go live in Dallas for nearly two months, and the treatments worked wonderfully.  Shannie's scleroderma remained completely inactive for nearly two years thanks to those treatments!  During that stay in Dallas, Shannie had the vision to begin Camp Diasozo.

Six years later, Shannie is still making and selling her pens at various locations around Fredericksburg and at special events and the proceeds from her pen sales help support our work at Camp Diasozo.
